VOLTAGE STANDING WAVE RAITO ( VSWR ) :
is defined as the ratio between the reflected and transmitted voltage waves in a radio frequency (RF) electrical transmission system, and it is a measure of how efficiently RF energy is transmitted from the power source and then goes through a transmission line, and ultimately goes into the load, and it has a specific rate of 1.5, and if it exceeds 1.7, there will be a reflection of the POWER coming from the board, whether MRFU or RRU, and this happens in the TRAFFIC because the PATH is not able to connect the power to the antenna, and this happens when a cut occurs in the JUMPER or Connector
VSWR Common Reasons
VSWR problems are due to several things, but most of them are caused by the installation of connectors, whether they are for valves or jumpers.
There are also sometimes reasons for the RF cards in the Base Station where there is damage to one of the ports or the card itself. It may also be due to the antenna (Antenna).
The following are the methods of VSWR treatment:
1- While installing the fuses, try to check the Inner with outer in case of a short circuit or open circuit after completing the installation of the connectors.
2- If the problem appears after installation and extension, in this case you need to use the Site Master device, and in this case the device will determine the highest value of VSWR and where exactly it was obtained (how far away from the measurement end) and then you measure or mostly estimate the distance and know The location of the malfunction and the solution to the problem, and there are cases:
A - If it is a Connector, you have to open it and re-install it after making sure that the feder or jumper is cut correctly, and then install and check and note that the problem has disappeared
B - If the fault is from the antenna, in this case you need to replace it
A- In the event of a check and the problem not appearing in the fuses, jambs and antenna, the problem will certainly be from the radio card at the station. In this case also, you need to replace the radio card.
Let's run a vswr test on Huawei GTMU and UMPT
A- VSWR Test By BTSM
1- select Site Management Right and then click Get.
2- Select the VSWR test.
3- You can select the sector you want to be tested by ACN then click start test
B- VSWR Test By LMT
1- Use the STR VSWRTEST command to start the vswr test.
