RSVP TE CSPF ISSUE

Hi guys, I have about 160 switches Huawei 6720-6730 running OSPF in same area and I run MPLS TE over the network. Configuration template is shown below


I use mpls te tunnels to forward traffic, but when link failure occurres along the path where traffic is passing though the tunnel goes down and it takes almost 2 minutes to turn up. If I remove tunnel-policy and let traffic go by ldp, the problem doesn't occurr. 


During the tests, CSPF computation was routing traffic through the failed link while OSPF had routed it correctly to another operating link

Hi,
Has this error occurred recently or has it been there forever? The path calculation will be executed after the TEDB is synchronized, since you have as many as 160 switches in the same area, that would be a big project to synchronize the TEDB, though I think it wouldn't take too much time to finish the synchronization, maybe, you can check the TEDB when the link failed.

Hi, thanks for your help

My routing tables have about 500 routes only, but I know that so many routers in the same area can cause routing problems. Do you think that the problem is the number of routers? As I mentioned, using ldp to compute lsps I don't have convergence problems and ospf computes perfectly. When I go with rsvpte to forward using mpls te tunnels, that problem occurs

Hi friend,


Most probably because it waits the traffic-engineering database to be updated, 

On the ingress node of an MPLS TE tunnel.

Run:

mpls te cspf timer failed-link interval


By default, the failed link timer is set to 10 seconds

I had applied this command in the ingress nodes from both sides (i have tunnels from PEx to PEy and PEy to PEx) but inside mpls section, not inside the tunnel and it didn't changed anything

Is there a way to fasten tedb updating process? Ospf lsdb is updating correctly, as ldp works perfectly

Hello,
After the configuration checking again, can you please try to disable the RSVP GR Helper configuration and test again? The interruption periodic time seems equal to the GR time.
Besides, can you please confirm what kind of reason the tunnel goes down?

Hi @chenhui , I have disabled it but anything changed. The tunnel goes down when a fiber cut occurs in our backbone, for example.

The problem seems to be related with number of routers within the same area. Same tests with a lesser number of routers do not show route convergence problem.
