Hello, everyone!
I summarize xDSL performance into a table and compare the performance of different xDSL.
Now I'm going to share it with you.
xDSL | Symmetry | Maximum Rate | Maximum Distance(km) | Twisted Pair | POTS Service |
G.SHDSL | Asymmetrical | 2.3 Mbps | 5.5 | 1 | No |
ADSL | Asymmetrical | Downstream:8196kbps Upstream: 896 kps | 5 | 1 | Yes |
ADSL2+ | Asymmetrical | Downstream:25 Mbps<?XML:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-Microsoft-com:office:office" /> Upstream: 3Mbps | 6.5 | 1 | Yes |
VDSL | Symmetrical/ Asymmetrical | Downstream:52 Mbps(asymmetrical) Upstream: 12 Mbps(symmetrical) | 1.5 | 1 | Yes |
ADSL uses the spectrum of 26 kHz-1.1MHz. The upstream spectrum is 26 kHz-138 kHz, and the downstream spectrum is 138 kHz-1.1 MHz. The ADSL upstream rate can reach 640 kbps and its downstream rate can reach 8 Mbps.
ADSL2+ uses the spectrum of 26 kHz- 2.2 MHz. The upstream spectrum is 26 kHz-138 kHz and the downstream spectrum is 138kHz-2.2 MHz. ADSL2+ upstream rate reaches 1 Mbps, and its downstream rate reaches 25Mbs.
VDSL uses a wider spectrum starting from 25 kHz and ending at 12 MHz. Its upstream spectrum is 3.75MHz-8.5MHz, and its downstream spectrum is 138 kHz-3.75MHz or 8.5MHz-12MHz. If VDSL is asymmetrical, its downstream rate is 6.5-52Mbps and its upstream rate is 0.8-6.4 Mbps. If VDSL is symmetrical, its rate is 6.5-26 Mbps.
I hope it will be helpful for you. Thank you!
