save configuration
Function
This command is used to save the current configuration file of the system. To save the configuration file from the SDRAM to flash memory of the control board, run this command. This facilitates later activation of the configuration file to restore the configuration and provides preventive measures for locating faults or recovering the system. After the configuration file is saved successfully, you can start activating the configuration file.

Usage Guidelines
In the configuration file, the configured data is mainly saved in the command line format, including the data type, parameter value, and location.
Powering off or resetting the device before the saving is complete will damage the data saved in the flash memory. Therefore, do not power off or reset the device before the saving is complete.
You can activate the saved configuration file by running the active configuration command. The configuration file, however, can take effect only after the system is reset.
You can query the current configuration of the system by running the display current-configuration command.
Example
To save the current system configuration file, run the following command:
huawei#save configuration

Note: The configuration file will take effect after being activated

System Response
The system displays the message "Configuration file had been saved successfully" after the configuration file of the system is saved successfully.
