The Happiest Man on Earth

I am speechless. Your story has changed the way I look at life. Never have I been so moved. You found light in the darkest of times and your pure strength is something I felt each time I turned a page. Thank you for sharing your story, it was an absolute honour to read it.

“Life is not always happiness. Sometimes, there are many hard days. But you must remember that you are lucky to be alive — we are all lucky in this way. Every breath is a gift. Life is beautiful if you let it be. Happiness is in your hands”

The Lord of the Rings is an epic high fantasy novel by the English author and scholar J. R. R. Tolkien. Set in Middle-earth, the world at some distant time in the past, the story began as a sequel to Tolkien's 1937 children's book The Hobbit, but eventually developed into a much larger work. Written in stages between 1937 and 1949, The Lord of the Rings is one of the best-selling books ever written, with over 150 million copies sold. I have seen all parts of this novel and my all times favorite for sure .

SHUGGIE BAIN ( ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

Author: Douglas Stuart

Awards: The Booker Prize 2020.( Winner)

For once in my (essentially short) bookstagramming life, I'm indeed dumbfounded to such an extent that the analytical mind seems to have deserted me. I think we can all agree that each and every character( minute or principal) from the masterpiece held multifaceted mirrors of revelation to our degenerating selves.

Agnes Bain, as much as fate's basket of misery she was, had us hold on to that elusive silver lining right till the very end. Shuggie's heart kept reverberating those millions of pleas us readers kept holding onto for his beloved mother to keep going just a little longer. But its a fact that things we pin our hopes firmly to are never meant to be: not her aspirations, not Eugene and in the end, not even her; kismet always has its way.

To admit the truth, I missed the point with the final chapter: The South Side. The pulsating gloom kept me from perceiving the profoundness of the life after and its significance. Above all, Shuggie Bain is decidedly the most impactful I've ever indulged in.

People who like to read must be richer inside. You can also recommend other good books.

I highly recommend you read Mindset – The new psychology of success

Mindset

Brief: There are two types of mindsets - fixed and growth. Without realising, most of us become trapped in the fixed mindset with no way to improve our lives or others. "Becoming is better than being"

Why should read:

  • For an exploration of the two mindsets.  In a fixed mindset, people believe that their intelligence and talent are fixed traits. In a growth mindset, people believe that their abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work. In short, our beliefs about ourselves can block or empower us.

  • For insights on how mindsets change the meaning of failure.  People with a fixed mindset tend to view failure as defining them.  Those with a growth mindset face failure or obstacles by digging in more, tackling problems or learning from them.

  • For strategies in changing mindsets.  The good news is that mindsets can change. The book gives countless examples and strategies for changing your beliefs about your abilities, how you work through failure, and how you view learning/success.

Who should read: Educators, Leaders and Parents
