Lost Horizon James Hamilton's Lost Horizon is on top of my fave book list! I ordered two and left one in the office so I could also share it to my colleagues who are also into books. Please continue reading below this image. Click "VIEW MORE."

I also ordered the audible selection of this so that I could listen listen to it when I don't have the ability to sit and read a book. It is also one of my favorite movies. As they say the book is always better than the movie and in this case the book and the movie are equal partners. I have read this book several times and thoroughly enjoy the storyline. If you ever dream of finding a utopia where time does not matter this is a book for you. It has everything you need for a good story, adventure, suspense, love, fantasy and very thought-provoking. The characters make observations about the world's past and future which appear prophetic. It seems to me that today's world is exactly what they saw. And of course it is, because humans have always been what we are now. Hilton's style may seem dated and stilted to modern readers, but if you can get past that the reward is worth having endured it. Do read a sample first. That will help you to decide. None of this takes away from the central mystery of Shangri-La. It draws you in, you want to believe it and stay in it, just as desperately as young Mallinson wants to leave it. It's a powerful, delicious compulsion. Give in to it. It's well worth the wonder, in all of the meanings that wonder can have.Several of James Hilton's books have been made into movies and to me that is a great sign of an awesome book. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves to read.
