#WomenofHESC
March is the month when we celebrate International Women’s day. On this occasion, the Huawei Enterprise Support Community has launched the #WomenofHESC project - a series of interviews with notable women from the community - as a way to express appreciation for them and their achievements in the ICT world.
Today we have the pleasure of interviewing Dasha Kamarova, also known as @Ddkompik here, in the community; she's been a member since 2018. Dasha lives in Belarus and she’s currently working as a IP Network Specialist. She enjoys searching for professional opportunities and her focus is on continuous growth and development. Her certifications lie in HCIA and HCIP Routing&Switching, CCNA/CCNP R&SW and CCNA Security. One of her best achievements has been the fact that she was one of the winners of the ICT Competition in Belarus both in 2018 and 2019.

1. Thank you for accepting our invitation! If someone would have told you that you’d end up choosing the ICT path, would you have believed them?
Yes, of course! But if someone asked me the next: “Would you believe that you would be a participant in the ICT Competition in Shenzhen?”, then I would definitely say “No”. Because I wouldn’t have believe it back then.
2. The technical field is traditionally perceived as being a male-dominated one. Would you say that you’ve ever encountered any gender stereotypes? If yes, how did you manage them?
Yes, It happened once, but only at the university. If you are a good enough specialist, then your gender is not important.
3. Why women need technology and technology needs women?
Because this is an interesting direction behind which the future stands.
4. Tell us about the greatest challenge in your career so far. What was the most challenging part of your work and how did you deal with it?
This is top secret. I'm just joking.
But in general, for me, every day is a challenge, because I am considered a young specialist. And for me it’s a hard and easy journey at the same time, but it’s interesting.
5. What do you like about your work?
The fact that I work with equipment and I always learn something new.
6. What professional achievements are you proud of?
I am proud that I have chosen the technical direction and that I have already achieved some of my personal goals. But I understand that I still have a lot to achieve.

7. What are you short term plans when it comes to your work?
Right now? Right now I am just trying to study the market of network products and work with new network equipment as soon as it arrives in our country. I hope so. Because you know COVID-19, it doesn’t help with that.
8. What about the long term ones?
To get as much experience as I can. And another will be a secret for you right now J

9. Would you say that your actions and achievements inspired other people? How?
I can’t say this, although some friends were happy when they heard about my success. But you know, such things are really better seen from the “other side”.
10.Tell us a reason for which women should feel empowered to choose the ICT path!
It depends on each person. If you really want it, than what stops you? Absolutely nothing! Do you want to be a programmer and create a perfect system? Good, be it! Do you want to be a network engineer and configure some routers or maybe servers? Okay, let’s start! Only your imagination limits you. Start doing what you like and believing in it should give you strength.

11.What other activities do you occupy your time with?
Lately, I can't say that I have free time, but when it appears, I read and write my books, write programs, draw. But most of all, I like reading.
12.How would you say that our community has helped you out so far?
The community helps me find people with similar interests. I can help someone with some question and someone can help me. Exchange of information and experience is what helps us to grow as a specialist and as a person in general.
13.What are you proud of achieving here on the Huawei Enterprise Support Community?
I am proud that all people in this community are interested in making this world a better place.
