4.1.1 Example for Loading a License File
Networking Requirements
After purchasing an AC, you can only use its basic functions. To use its value-added functions, you must purchase the license for the product or functions.
Users want to use value-added functions by loading the license file to the AC to meet enterprise network requirements.
Configuration Roadmap
- Obtain the license file.
- Load the license file to the AC.
- Activate the license file.
Configuration Notes
- To load the license file, the AC can function as a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server, FTP client, Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) client, or Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) client. In this example, the AC functions as an FTP server.
- You can load the license file only to the root directory of the file system.
Procedure
- Obtain the license file.
# You must first apply for a license file. For details, see the License Application Guide.
- Load the license file.
NOTE:
This example uses an AC6605 as the AC device. - Activate the license file.
# After a license file is loaded to the device, you must activate the license file; otherwise, the license does not take effect.

- Verify the configurations.
# Run the display license state command to check the license state. The state of a commercial license is Normal, and the state of a non-commercial license is Demo or Trial.
