The Radio Frequency Management or RF Management permit to adapt fastly the WLAN to the environments changing using multiples smarts methods. Here i will present some of these methods
1-Radio calibration
optimizes radio performance by adjusting the radio parameters of an access point. that is to say that the access controller will dynamically adjust the parameters of the access points (channels and power) to allow better performance
We will therefore have the adjustment of the channels and the adjustment on the power
We have three Radio calibration modes:
Auto Mode: here the radio calibration is done globally at periodic times
Manual Mode: the radio calibration is launched manually
Schedule Mode: that is the recommended method, the AC launch te Radio calibration in a specified time for example in non peak hours
2-Load Balancing
It ensures a sufficient transmission rate and bandwidth for each station by distributing the traffic between several access points.
This method is generally used in networks with high density
3-Band steering
This method permit to the AC to connect the APs to the 5Ghz band when the 2,4Ghz is almost full, in order to reduce the traffic laod and interferences on the 2,4Ghz band.
Thanks. Hope this post is helpful
