[WLAN]Q&A: Upgrade Compatibility of New Hardware Version AP

Latest reply: Mar 26, 2022 11:07:39 949 5 4 0 0

The hardware of some Huawei APs has been upgraded. These APs are incompatible with earlier software versions and can only match new software versions. Therefore, there are upgrade or downgrade restrictions for these APs. Existing APs before hardware upgrade are compatible with new software versions. They can be upgraded or downgraded without any restriction. APs with the hardware of old and new versions can be used together and provide the same services. Before upgrading or downgrading an AP whose model and target software version are listed in Table1, check the AP's hardware version first. Then, determine whether the AP can be upgraded or downgraded to the target software version. If not necessary, upgrade the AP to the latest SPC version in the target VxxxRxxxCxx version. In this way, APs can be upgraded or downgraded regardless of whether the APs use the new or old hardware. The SPC versions earlier than VxxxRxxxCxxSPCxxx in the table refer to those in the same VxxxRxxxCxx version.

The new software versions include V200R008C10, V200R010C00, and V200R019C00, which are applicable to all AP modes, that is, Fit, Fat, and cloud modes. Among the APs running earlier software versions that are not within the range of new versions, the APs using hardware of new versions cannot be downgraded. For example, an AP8050DN using hardware of new versions cannot be downgraded to an earlier software version, for example, V200R007C20.
