Problem Description
In V200R006C10 and later versions, in the dual-link hot backup (active/standby mode), VRRP hot backup, and dual-link cold backup scenarios, the active AC applies for and loads a new license, and the new license is automatically synchronized to the standby AC.
Problem:
1. Does the license contain the SN of the standby AC? If the standby AC does not contain the SN of the standby AC, can the standby AC have these license resources after being synchronized to the standby AC?
2. Is the backup performed when the license is activated? If an AC runs independently and has been loaded with a license, can the license be synchronized after the backup is configured?
3. Will the backup license be saved in the flash memory of the device? If the active AC is faulty and the standby AC restarts, does the license on the standby AC take effect?
Solution
1. The license does not need to contain the SN of the standby AC. Instead, the license file is synchronized to the standby AC for automatic activation. Instead, the license is synchronized directly. For example, if there are 50 AP resources in the license, the standby device has 50 APs, and the SN is not checked.
2. The backup is performed only when the AC is not activated. If an AC runs independently and activates the license, the license can be synchronized after the dual-system hot backup is set up.
3. In V200R006, when the active AC is faulty, the backup license on the standby AC can still be used, but the license becomes invalid after the device restarts.
In V200R007C10 and later versions, in dual-link hot backup (active/standby mode), VRRP hot backup, and dual-link cold backup scenarios, after the active AC is faulty, the backup license on the standby AC enters the 30-day aging period, the license automatically becomes invalid 30 days later. If the active AC recovers during the aging period, the aging period becomes invalid. When the active AC is faulty again, the backup license enters the 30-day aging period. The license resource information is saved in the flash memory. During the 30-day aging period, the standby AC restarts and the license resources are still valid.
