Symptom
At a site, wall plate APs are mounted on a ceiling and repeatedly restart due to overheating.
Fault Location
The air convection at the top of the room is weak, adversely affecting the heat dissipation of APs on the ceiling. Overheating causes the APs to repeatedly restart.
Solution
Install wall plate APs on walls.
Summary
The following figure shows the heat dissipation mechanism of a wall plate AP. Cold air enters the AP shell from the bottom and sides of the AP, and hot air is dissipated from the top of the AP through the chimney effect. If the AP is installed on a ceiling, the AP cannot effectively dissipate heat due to weak air convection at the top of the room. As a result, the AP repeatedly restarts due to overheating. Therefore, plan the wall mounting or junction box (86 mm) mounting mode for wall plate APs in network planning and design.
