why in the official huawei wlan configuration docs there is a command [Router-GigabitEthernet1 / 0/0] port link-type trunk;

but doesn’t such a command exist on Router itself?

Hi,
Because the interface you configured is a layer 3 interface. you should configure the port link-type on the layer 2 interface.

On a real router, you can use the portswitch command to change interfaces from Layer 3 mode to Layer 2 mode or use the undo portswitch command to change the interfaces from Layer 2 mode to Layer 3 mode.

<Huawei> system-view

[Huawei] interface ethernet 0/0/0

[Huawei-Ethernet0/0/0]portswitch

In the eNSP, sometimes the command can't take effect. you can change another layer 2 interface.

Hello!
For detailed information you can check https://forum.huawei.com/enterprise/en/trunk-port-on-huawei-ar2220e/thread/434539-863

The reason is that this port is L3. Please check the devices that you use in the modeling.

This is because the port is only layer 3 port. If it is capable of both layer 2 and 3, you should use 'portswitch' command before configuring the interface as a lauer 2 interface.

I can not find such this command

Hi @user_3812816

The Gi 0/0/x interfaces works as L3 ports by default on the AR devices predefined by eNSP, it can't be switched to a L2 port. If you want to configure a trunk on an AR router use an Ethernet 0/0/x port instead or if you want to configure Inter-vlan routing you can use sub-interfaces of a L3 port with dot1q termination:

L2 L3 Interfaces

Also, you can use the generic router device that appears on eNSP, this device supports the port switch command to change a L3 port to a L2 port:

Generic Router eNSPL3 to L2 portswitch
