Hello, everyone!
Today, I would like to share with you the importance of wireless networks.
Computer scientists succeeded in using the so-called local networks, which stands for LAN for the word (Local Area Network), and that the main objective of this is to achieve the maximum benefit from the resources provided by the devices on the network. Indeed, these networks have provided many services to their users. Where it enabled them to communicate with each other by e-mail and take advantage of programs and applications in addition to the possibility of access to common databases
Note: It is worth noting the difference between the Wide Area Network (WAN) and Wireless LAN (WLAN), which sends digital information over long distances using cellular systems with a low data transfer rate, in addition to the need for a high-cost infrastructure, transferring it because this requires disconnection with the network and reconnecting from another location.
But if we want to add a new node to the network, this means more wired connections and more space, which in turn leads to an increase in cost. These factors led to the difficulty in establishing these networks and their high price, which called for the necessity of It modified to suit the requirements of the times. Accordingly, the trend to use wireless networks began, which provided solutions to the problems experienced by wired networks, as it gave great flexibility in the process of adding a new node to the network without the need for more wired connections, and the most important is The ability to move freely with the mobile device within the network range, taking into consideration the low cost of these networks.
Due to the Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN), a person can move anywhere he wants, even in public places while he is carrying a laptop or laptop. This technology allowed to connect to the Internet via a radio signal (radio frequency/RF) instead of connecting via wires.
Hotspots are places where a person can use wireless internet technology. The number of hotspots reached hundreds of thousands worldwide:
1. Wireless computer cards, and they may be present in the portable device or any other device, or they may be added to it. This card contains an internal or external antenna.
2. Access point that connects wireless local networks to the Internet. As for the planes that contain hot spots, the problem of the access point is solved through an antenna outside the plane linked to special satellites that connect it to the network through ground receiving stations.
With regard to speed and cost, the wireless local area network technology using radio signals (WLAN) compared to other technologies, has been able to overcome the problem of wireless transmission of information over relatively long distances at a moderate cost.
