WiFi Coverage Management

1. 1. Click the WLAN tab, and choose WiFi Coverage Management from the navigation tree on the left. In the right pane, specify the SSID used for smart Wi-Fi coverage and add the identified external AP devices to the Wi-Fi network, as shown in Figure 2-8.

2. 2. Click Advanced Setting on the right, select The ONT enables wireless devices to automatically switch to an access point where the signal performance is better, and set RSSI threshold for forced switching and RSSI threshold for conditioned switching, as shown in Figure 2-9.

3. 3. Click Apply.

The procedure is as follows:

Click the WLAN tab, and choose WiFi Coverage Management from the navigation tree on the left. In the right pane, specify the SSID used for smart WiFi coverage and add the identified external AP devices to the WiFi network, configure roaming and switching conditions. Then click Apply.

For the problem that the HG8245Q2 cannot find APs, please check the AP model. Currently, Huawei ONTs support only EchoLife WA8011Y, EchoLife WA8011V,  EchoLife WA8021V5, and EchoLife WA8011V5.

But there is NO (0, zero) devices on AP field. Does HG8245Q2 support extenders? Or its maybe disabled by operator? Or why support only couple EchoLife models? I have very good tplink router, may put him in repateur mode/

This function require HUAWEI repeater connected to ONT with supported huawei firmware

Other vendors repeater cant support this .

(ONT work as Wifi MANAGER and managing it)

A very welcome list of Huawei equipment that can be connected to ONT to work with this function
(it would also be useful to know from which software version the device supports all Coverage Management functions)

I tested the HUAWEI WS331c and it works, but this equipment is very difficult to obtain today.

Generally, consumer devices are purchased through an ISP or online. In this case, you can contact the ISP or Huawei Consumer Hotline to obtain the device firmware and fittings.
