Wi-Max technology

Perhaps the only place you may hear the word WiMAX or WiMax is the world of communications and its revolutionary transitions, specifically from limited cables to wireless communications, and this technology is one of the first wireless models in the world.

What is Wi-Max technology

WiMAX is an abbreviation for global operational microwave access, a remote communication technology and remote communication support technology, and has been created to be used in telephone networks, i.e. calls, etc., as well as for specific communications such as the Internet at home.

The establishment of this technology took place in 1997 and depends on the global wireless standards IEEE 802.16, and has not received much attention among users and companies due to the overwhelming success of WiFi analog technologies.

Although this technology is not cheap at all, it remains the cheapest option when compared to a wired cable connection such as the DSL digital common line.

The establishment of this technology depends on two things: stations that operate like master bases, and are built by service providers to provide a support range for the technology, and the second is signal receivers, installed in users' devices such as phones and others.

What's the difference between WiMax and Wi-Fi?

It is natural to ask a question like this, and the answer is through an account of the qualities and features of each of them, the most prominent of which stems from the idea that Wi-Max technologies are very flexible and reliable not only to connect to the Internet;

WiMax technologies are cheap compared to cable-based wired communications as mentioned, but wiFi has clearly proven superior at this point, which is why most companies are paying more attention to them, which is why they find comprehensive support from smartphones, computers, etc., unlike other technology that has not received the same demand, although at one point I think it will be the alternative to WiFi because it offers more features and is more flexible.

The way the two techniques work is quite different, the one we're talking about today depends on a special scheduling system-based algorithm, and this regulatory mechanism makes them ready to support very remote communications, while ensuring that the collision defect that WiFi technologies are known to suffer from, and which uses a collision prevention algorithm that makes it difficult to rely on in remote communications.

In short, wi-fi makes it the best for short communications across users' devices, while WiMAX is the best and most successful choice for long and long-distance communications for several ports of communication, such as securing the internet service itself in more than one home, or connecting several buildings within a single center

Thank you.
