Hello, everyone.

I'd like to share with you a case about the failure to change the speed of an optical port.

Problem Description

When the speed mode of the optical interface is changed on-site, the error message "payload type error" is displayed. The error code is 39555.

Handling Procedure

1. Check the working mode of the board. The working model of the client-side port is the same as that of other boards, but the working mode of other boards can be configured successfully.

2. Check the product documentation and find that there is no special restriction on the speed mode.

3. Through further analysis of the problem. It is suspected that the client-side end-to-end operating mode is configured, which results in cross-connection within the board. As a result, the speed mode of the optical port cannot be changed.

4. After the client-side mode is changed to none, the change is successful.

Root Cause

After the client-side mode is configured, cross-connections are created on the board. Therefore, the client-side mode cannot be changed.

Solution

Change the client-side mode to none before changing the mode.

That's all. I hope it's helpful for you.

Thanks.
