The roaming process takes a long time due to the following reasons:

    Users use different security policies. The roaming time of a STA using the WEP security policy is smaller than that of the STA using the WPA security policy.

    Users switch between different channels during roaming. The roaming time of a STA that switches from channel 1 to channel 6 is smaller than that of the STA that switches from channel 11 to channel 6.

    STA NICs differ. The roaming time is determined by the NIC performance.

To configure the roaming sensitivity of a wireless NIC (for example, on a PC running Windows XP), choose Start > Settings > Network Connections. Right-click the wireless NIC, choose Properties, and click the Advanced tab. Adjust Roaming Initiative. If the roaming initiative is adjusted to the lowest level, the roaming sensitivity decreases to the lowest level. If the roaming initiative is adjusted to the highest level, the roaming sensitivity increases to the highest level.

Oh I had just the same issue with my previous roaming provider :( I just switched it off and now I am testing unlimited calls from https://pondmobile.com/ .. Let's see how it will work for me.

Bad thing is: Mostly you can't. iPhones, Android...all these devices have lazy timings as far as I can tell. They stick forever.

INTEL NICs allow you to set ROAMING AGGRESSIVENESS in the drivers property tab. REALTEK drivers have ROAMING DECISION setting.
