Why I can not see the SSID of my AP5130DN

Hello everyone,

I will share with you how to deal with why I can not see the SSID of my AP5130DN.

Issue Description:

Device:
- AC6605 V200R007C20SPC300
- AP5130DN V200R007

Customer informed he install next antenna (wireless adaptor) in his Windows 10, after try to connect the wireless network can not see the SSID of the Huawei AP, another devices like mobiles phones or laptops can discover the SSID.

Antenna TP Link, 
Model: TL-WN881ND

Alarm Information

There is no alarm information on the display diagnostic.

Handling Process

Because we did not find any alarm information in the AC need to review the physical Layer

1) Review the technical specifications of the PC ANTENNA.

2) Review if the antenna support the current transmition mode like 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz.

3) Review the radio parameters of the AP and confirm if the Antenna support the current band, channel & Badwith.

Root Cause

The customer configure a regulatory domain and configure the channels 1,7,12 for the 2.4GHz band.

Solution

Configure the right channels in the "regulatory-domain-profile"

Info: In 20MHz bandwidth mode, available calibration channels include channels 1,6 and 11.
Info: For three 5G radios, configure at least five calibration channels. For two 5G radios, configure at least three calibration channels.

Also set the Channel on the AP:

[AC-Huawei-wlan-view]ap-id XXX
[AC-Huawei-wlan-ap-133]radio 0
[AC-Huawei-wlan-radio-133/0]channel 20 6
Warning: This action may cause service interruption. Continue?[Y/N] Y 

Then double check the cannel again:

There are various causes of this kind of problem: too weak wireless signal, incorrect wireless settings on the router, or too much interference and problems of the wireless adapter. Try the following solutions:

a. Check the wireless signal strength of your network. If it is weak (1~3 bars), please move closer to the router and try again.

b. Check the wireless settings on the router. Make sure Wireless MAC Filtering or Access Control is NOT enabled.

c. Change the wireless Channel of the router to 1, 6, or 11 (for 2.4GHz network) to reduce interference from other networks. Please contact your router’s support for help if you don’t know how to change router settings.

d. Change the wireless security encryption and channel width to 20MHz.

e. Try to connect via WPS. Press the WPS button on the router and then press WPS button on the adapter. For more details, you can refer to FAQ-302.

f. Re-install or update the driver for your wireless adapter of the computer. Please contact computer/wireless adapter’s support for help if you don’t know how to update the driver.

g. Refer to FAQ 429 for more solutions.
