Why does a capacity alarm still exist?

Hello,

Why is a capacity alarm not cleared after the used capacity of a storage pool becomes smaller than the alarm threshold?

For example, if the alarm threshold is 80% and the capacity actually used drops to 79.4%, why does a capacity alarm still exist?

Thanks.

Dear Lucas,

The system has an anti-jitter mechanism for the storage pool capacity alarm. The system uses 1% of the total capacity as the anti-jitter range. A capacity alarm is cleared only after the storage pool capacity becomes smaller than alarm threshold plus the anti-jitter range. For example, if the default capacity alarm threshold is 80%, an alarm is generated once the capacity actually used is greater than or equal to 80%. When the capacity actually used becomes lower than 79%, the capacity alarm is cleared.

Solutions for the capacity alarm:

1. Expand the storage pool capacity.

2. If you do not want to expand the storage pool capacity, you can increase the alarm threshold to a maximum value of 85%.

3. Contact Huawei technical support.

A capacity alarm is reported only for storage pools that have thin LUNs or thin file systems.

Thanks.
