If static RP configurations on the devices over the entire network are inconsistent, the RPT cannot be correctly set up or the RP cannot join the SPT to the multicast source.
An RP is the core of the PIM-SM network. It serves specified multicast groups. Multiple RPs can exist on the network simultaneously. You can specify an RP to serve only certain groups. You need to ensure that the RP information of all the devices for a specified group is consistent on the network. Otherwise, the multicast function cannot work normally.
If you use the static RP mechanism, you need to ensure that static RP configurations on all the devices (including the static RP itself) are consistent over the network.
Solution: Configure the static RPs in the same way on all the devices over the network, including the static RP address and ACL rule.
