Why AP cannot obtain IP through DHCP?

Hi all, plz give me advice or a troubleshooting guideline, why my AP cannot obtain IP address from the AC on which exists DHCP pool...


There is an AP that cannot get an IP:

Hello,

Perform the following steps to locate the fault:

  1. 1.Check whether the AP is configured to obtain an IP address using DHCP.

  2. 2.Check whether the Layer 2 link between the AP and DHCP server is working properly.

  3. 3.Run the display ip pool name ip-pool-name used command on the DHCP server to check whether the AP has obtained an IP address.

Hi friend!

Ensure that the DHCP configuration is correct, and reduce the IP address lease. If a long IP address lease is set, after all addresses in the address pool are allocated, addresses that are not required cannot be released immediately. As a result, other DHCP clients cannot obtain IP addresses.

I don't see a MAC address in the mac address table on the port where AP is connected

Hi,

Since one AP has obtained the  IP address correctly, I guess maybe you have configured a wrong mac address for the other AP.

Thank you all for your advice and help. The issue was in that these problem APs have a non-default configuration with static IP, I think. After a hardware reset, AP get an address.
