Symptom
On a network built with the OptiX OSN 6800, WSD9 and RMU9 boards are used on an ROADM NE. After services are deployed, iManager T2000 V200R007C03 can be used to search for WDM trails to facilitate management. For the 74th wavelength (pass-through wavelength) that passes the WSD9 and RMU9 boards, only some optical transmission section (OTS) and optical multiplexing section (OMS) trails are searched out but end-to-end OCh trails cannot be searched out.
Cause analysis
- An OTS trail corresponds to a physical fiber connection on the NMS. You do not need to search for this trail. After physical fiber connections are established, the OTS trails are automatically generated. However, OTS trails are not generated between an OTU board and a MUX or DEMUX board.
- An OMS trail corresponds to the trial of multiplexed signals and the OMS trail is created over OTS trails. The OMS trail can be considered as a trail generated between a MUX board and a DEMUX board.
- A trail consists of cross-connections and logical fiber connections. Therefore, the reason for OCh trail search failure is that no cross-connection or logical fiber connection is created.
Procedure
- Services are deployed successfully, and you can conclude that physical fiber connections are correct. Check logical fiber connections. Logical fiber connections are correct and comply with the project design.
- Check cross-connections on dynamic cross-connection boards along the trail. On a WSD9+RMU9 NE, optical cross-connections from 5-5WSD9-IN to 5-5WSD9-DM2 exist on the WSD9 board but no optical cross-connection from port AM2 to port OUT exists on the RMU9 board.
- On the NMS, check cross-connections on the WSD9+RMU9 NE. Optical cross-connections from AM2 to OUT cannot be created on the RMU9 board.
- The reason for the proceeding problem is that although the RMU9 board is a dynamic cross-connection board, it does not support creation of optical cross-connections. Services, however, can be deployed even when no optical cross-connections are created on the board or NE.
- On the NMS, create optical cross-connections for the 74th wavelength from a west FIU board to an east FIU board on the NE, and create cross-connections from port AM2 to port OUT on the RMU9 board. Then, OCh trails can be searched. Note that before creating optical cross-connections on the NE, delete optical cross-connections for the 74th wavelength on the WSD9 board, and this causes a service interruption.
