Hello, everyone!

When planning service profiles on the OLT, you need to plan a DBA.

The common practice is to set the DBA type to 4, that is, the maximum upstream bandwidth. Generally, the DBA type is used as the Internet access service.

Of course, there are other types, for example, VOIP uses fixed bandwidth type 1.

Configuration Example:

 dba-profile add profile-id 11 profile-name " ftth_HIS" type4 max 102400

Thanks.

ONU (Optical Network Unit) An optical network unit. The ONU is divided into an active optical network unit and a passive optical network unit. A device equipped with an optical receiver including an optical receiver, an upstream optical transmitter, and multiple bridge amplifiers is generally called an optical node. The PON is connected to the OLT using a single fiber, and then the OLT is connected to the ONU. The ONU provides services such as data, IPTV (interactive network TV), and voice (using IAD, Integrated Access Device) to truly implement the “triple-play” application.

What is the correct plan for DBA?
limit the upload bandwidth of the all ONTs with dba-profile or with traffic filter?

if you have ONTs, which will have voip and internet access (2 T-CONT configured, one for voip (t-cont 1) and other for internet (t-cont 2)) and you want limit internet upload to 50Mbps.
Which of the following is the correct way to define the dba for these T-CONTs?
a) define the dba-profile of the T-CONT 2 with the maximum upload speed (50Mbs): dba-profile add profile-id X profile-name "50" type4 max 52480
b) or define the dba-profile of the T-CONT 2 with the maximum upload speed that the PON can support (1Gpbs), and limit the speed of the ONTs with traffic table

Thank you in advanced.
