When picking up a call it changes RTP port

A set up boss secretary, when call directly to boss and secretary wnats to pick up call the call changes the RTP port and the call cannot be established. 


Solution

REview in the network if a firewall is changing ports or it must have SIPALG configured.

Hello.

SIP ALG stands for SIP Application Layer Gateway and is common in many commercial routers. It intends to prevent some of the problems caused by router firewalls by inspecting VOIP traffic (packets) and if necessary modifying it.

Even though SIP ALG is intended to assist users who have phones on private IP addresses, in many cases it is implemented poorly and actually causes more problems. SIP ALG modifies SIP packets in unexpected ways , corrupting them and making them unreadable. It could cause the lack of incoming calls and also break SIP signaling. phones not registering and so on. We would recommend to check the router settings and also turn SIP ALG off it is enabled.
