The packet processing boards include the PEX1, PEX2, PEG16, and PEG8. They achieve the packet switching function in the packet domain.
PEX1 (1x10GE Ethernet processing board).
PEX2 (2-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet switching processing board).
PEG8 (8-Port Gigabit Ethernet switching processing board).
PEG16 (16xGE Ethernet processing board).

During trobeshooting, make sure that you verify the protection scheme.
Notice that for Tunnel APS and PW APS, the switching mode can be revertive or non-revertive.
