Good day, Masss!

I think it depends on the situation.

If SMC is deployed in a single-node system, the conference will be interrupted. You are advised to install the SMC cluster.

The SMC2.0 adopts multiple backup mechanisms so services of a network carrier are not interrupted by the failure of any single device.

The SMC2.0 adopts hierarchical backup mechanisms to achieve high reliability.

Cluster
The SMC2.0 supports cluster deployment. When the active server is faulty, all services are automatically switched to the standby server without interrupting the ongoing conferences.

SC backup
The SMC2.0 supports SC backup. When the active SC is faulty, all services are automatically switched to the standby SC to ensure reliable communications.

M*****ckup
If an MCU fails, the SMC2.0 automatically switches services to an available MCU in the same or standby service area. This helps ensure that conferences run smoothly.

Device configuration backup
On the SMC2.0, users can back up the current configuration of a manageable device to the server and restore the device to the backup configuration when required.

Hello,

Thank you for posting on our Huawei Forum.

Impact on the System:

- A conference that is being held on the MCU is interrupted.
- Conferences that are scheduled on the MCU cannot be started.
- Conferences cannot be scheduled on the MCU.

This is what happens if the MCU is offline/ cannot be reached and a TCP connection between the MCU and SMC is disconnected
