Hi Rengar,
Networking restriction: When an AP is connected to the AC using an Eth-Trunk, another Eth-Trunk is occupied for packet forwarding apart from the newly created one. Therefore, to prevent the number of Eth-Trunks from exceeding the specification of the device, properly allocate Eth-Trunks during network data planning.
Therefore, when an AP is connected to the switch using an Eth-Trunk, a corresponding hidden Eth-Trunk is created. Although no more than 128 Eth-Trunk resources is configured, the PoE switch connected to the AP occupies two Eth-Trunks actually. As a result, all resources are used up.
When all PoE switches are connected to the S12700 through Eth-Trunks, only half of Eth-Trunks (128/2 = 64) can be used.
Solution: Replan the network. If more than 64 PoE access switches are deployed, other switches can only connect to the core S12700 switch through a single link.
I hope it helps!
