What's VIS storage System ?

VIS  means the Virtualization intelligence Storage System.

With the storage virtualization, the VIS provides virtual volumes that can consolidate heterogeneous storage devices and manages the logical volumes that can cover multiple physical disks. In addition, the VIS can dynamically set the disk storage sector when the system is operating.

and the VIS is mainly applied in the following scenarios:

  • A storage network that requires application consolidation of different application server (AS) of different brands
  • A storage network that requires application consolidation of different storage devices of different brands
  • A storage network that requires integration of all storage resources into one storage resource pool

Currently, Huawei VIS products include OceanStor VIS6300, OceanStor VIS6600, and OceanStor VIS6600T.
