What's the Difference Between Boot from SAN and Boot from Local?

I am a little confused about boot from SAN and boot from Local, who can expain this. Thank you.

SANBOOT is a network storage management system that stores all the data (including servers' operating systems) in storage systems. Specifically, operating systems are installed on and booted from SAN storage devices. Therefore, SANBOOT is also called REMOTE BOOT or boot from SAN.

If the operating systems are installed on SAN storage devices, UltraPath must be installed in boot from SAN mode. If the operating systems are installed on local disks, either of the installation modes can be used.

If boot from SAN is used, the system starts the system mirror to start the UltraPath module.

If boot from Local is used, UltraPath is started as a service.
