The data volume of an uncompressed sound is calculated based on the following formula: 

Data volume (bit/s) = Sampling frequency (Hz) x Sampling bits (bit) x Number of sound tracks/8

According to the formula, the data volume of a monaural voice file with the sampling rate being 8 Hz and sampling bits being 8 is calculated as follows:

8000 Hz x 8 bit x 1/8 = 8000 bit/s = 7.8125 kbit/s.

Based on the recording requirements on VU channel voice files, the data volume is calculated as 7.8125 kbit/s.

• U1910/U1930/U1980: A single VU channel voice file can last 32 seconds, and the size is 250 KB.
  

• U1911/U1960/U1981: A single VU channel voice file can last 300 seconds, and the size is 2343 KB.
