Hello Everyone
I’d like to share with you What is the RTN380 ? And How to replace its hardware faulty?
What is RTN380?
1- RTN 380 is a full outdoor E-band Microwave Transmission equipment : RTN Radio Transmission Node

a) GE(o) port : optical port 2.5G Ethernet for SFP Optical Module <> Optical Connection
b) GE(e) port : Electrical Port for RJ45 Connector <> ETH Connection
c) P&E port : Power over Ethernet port for electrical signal and -48 V power signal <> RJ45 Connection
d) USB Port : For USB Flash Drive to Configuration Data and Backup Data or Software Update plus we can
e) USB Port : For WIFI Module to connect RTN380 with Web LCT through a WIFI Network <> USB con.
f) RSSL Port : to get signal level that test the Voltage a via Using Multimeter <> ETH Connection
g) PGND Port : For Ground Point
h) COMBO Port : Composite Port for Optical Fiber 2.5GE and support GE Electrical
2- RTN 380 is available in two models by using system control boards MXUF4 and SHUF3

3- RTN 380 provides a large-capacity backhaul microwave links or aggregation links on a mobile communications network or a private network, or substitute for optical fibers to transmit CPRI signals between baseband units (BBUs) and remote radio units (RRUs) in a distributed base station system to achieve longer transmission of RRUs.
4- RTN 380 can be Configured 1+0 ,2+0 and 1+1 sites
A- Providing aggregation backhaul links

B- Providing Large Capacity backhaul links

C- Providing Langer Transmission solution replacing Optical Fibers among BBs and RRUs

5- RTN 380 operates at 71 --- 76 GHz or 81 ---- 86 GHz frequency bands to achieve Large bandwidth and long distance transmission to meet LTE broadband backhaul requirements

How to replace its hardware faulty?
When RTN gives Alarm HARD_BAD alarm: This indicates that RTN hardware is Faulty
How can replace RTN faulty:
1- Import backup RTN data to a laptop by using LCT
2- If there is No backup data , You can backup and recovery RTN data by using Flash drive onsite “ files Named RTN.CER and RTNEXTRA “ that copied to Flash
3- Power off the RTN 380 and remove all cables connected to RTN380 and Remove the Faulty RTN380
4- Install new RTN 380 and Ensure that it is the same model for faulty
5- Power on the circuit breaker on the power cabinet of the RTN 380
6- Enable USB access by LCT
- Choose Communication <> Access Control <> Select USB Access Control <> USB access status <> Enabled
- Insert USB Flash drive into the USB Port on RTN380
- The USB Port is blinking green during data backup
- The indicator of USB Port will be steady green after the data backup is completed
- After Data is restored , Remove the USB Flash drive
7- Check the Current Alarm on RTN380 and ensure that the Fault disappear and no alarm
Thank you all and I wish that article helpful for you
Warm Regards
