Hello, Community.

I have a problem.

Thanks for your help.

Hello, dear friend.

I'm not sure what range you mean.

If you're asking about the TDC board dispersion tuning range, it was ±400 ps/nm.

If you're asking about the Insertion Loss between the TDC and RDC optical ports on the OAU1 board, the TDC and RDC optical ports on the OAU1 board can be connected to each other in two modes:

  • TDC is connected to RDC through a DCM.

  • TDC is connected to RDC directly.

And The insertion loss between the TDC and RDC optical ports on the OAU1 board is 2 - 14 dB commonly.

Thanks.

Hello ,

the TDC & RDC are ports exist in the OAU amplifier , the OAU consist of 2 Amplifier

the first is PRE Amplifier while the second is bosster amplifier , These 2 ports used to house DCM unit which is a despersion compensation unit used to correct the distortion caused by traveling very high speed signals along the fiber .

OAU

- the DCM units causes attenuation dependes on their type and the amplifiers used to compensate this attenuation .

- the link designer can put the DCM within the OAU unit between (TDC - RDC ) or make it before amplifiers or between 2 amplifier acording to the power budget of the link .

so if the link designer place the DCM within the OAU unit between (TDC - RDC ) , the DCM unit causes special values for atenuation as listed below

DCM

- you should be sure that the input of the total signal is not bigger than the Max alloable power (20 or 23 dbm).

- you should make sure that the DCM unit is the needed according to the link design .

- if the designer make didnot add any DCM between the TDC&RDC , then you must make a loop patchcord between the TDC&RDC .

Regards
