the maximum capacity is 80 wavelength when using 50 GHZ as channel spacing or 40 wavelength if we use 100 ghz channel spacing

Max capacity of c band in optical communication

100 GHz fixed grid for 40/48 wavelengths- Single wavelengh Max capacity could be 100G/200G

50 GHz fixed grid for 80/96 wavelengths-Single wave Max capacity could be 100G/200G

Flex Grid for many wavelengths(Each slice capacity :12.5GHz, Wavelength could be many- dedends on slicing requirments; For instance for 400G- 3 slices are needed(12.5*3):37.5Ghz

By the way, technology it is continously eloving we could expect many wavelegths in C band in near future.
