What is the function of <deny source any> in an ACL? (single answer)

O A. It has no effect, because it has been configured by default.

O B. It prevents half-open TCP connections.

O C. It needs to be configured to reject all traffic.

O D. It records logs for denied traffic.

C

ACL features –

1. The set of rules defined are matched serial wise i.e matching starts with the first line, then 2nd, then 3rd, and so on.

2. The packets are matched only until it matches the rule. Once a rule is matched then no further comparison takes place and that rule will be performed.

3. There is an implicit deny at the end of every ACL, i.e., if no condition or rule matches then the packet will be discarded.

I'm using the exclusion method, and I'm going to say what I think.
1. B and D are definitely wrong, so we only have options A and C.
2. The option of C is reasonable, because the rule means that all source addresses are denied.
3. In some protocols, the default action of ACL rules is deny.
4. Both A and C are reasonable, but this question is a single choice. And this question I don't think is precise, I choose A based on personal feeling.
