Hi there, everybody!
This post talks about what is the difference between Bit Transparent Mapping and MAC Transparent Mapping. Please see more details below.
QUESTION
What is the difference between Bit Transparent Mapping and MAC Transparent Mapping?
ANSWER
MAC transparent transmission (10.71Gbit), Bit transparent transmission (10.71Gbit) and Bit transparent transmission (11.1Gbit). The differences between the three are as follows:
MAC transparent mapping (10.71G): Preamble/SFD (preamble and frame alignment) of 10GE-LAN signal frame structure;
Bits and IPG (packet gap) are removed, only MAC frames are transparently transmitted and then mapped to GFP frames. When it is finally mapped to the OTU2 frame;
the 7 overhead bytes in the OPU2 area (3 JC bytes, 1 NJO byte, 3 reserved bytes RES) are not passed as payload.
GFP FRAME
Bit Transparent Mapping (10.71G): Preamble/SFD that retains the 10GE-LAN signal frame structure, but will.
The IPG is removed, that is, the MAC frame and the Preamble/SFD are transparently transmitted and then mapped to the GFP frame. Last mapping to OTU2.
When framed, the 7 overhead bytes in the OPU2 region are used as the payload to transparently transmit the GFP frame.
Bit Transparent Mapping (11.1G): Preamble/SFD and IPG parts of 10GE-LAN signals are reserved.
The MAC frame plus Preamble/SFD and IPG are completely transparently transmitted and then directly mapped into the OTU2v payload without passing.
GFP FRAME TRANSITION
Realize the complete transparency of business in the true sense.
The Bit Transparent Mapping (11.1G) mapping path is 10GELAN->ODU2E. The clock of ODU2E is the clock of the 10GE LAN service accessed on the client side. This processing is mainly to support the transparent transmission of the service and the transparent transmission of the synchronous Ethernet.
The MAC Transparent Mapping (10.7G) mapping path is 10GELAN->GFP-F->ODU2. The ODU2 clock uses the local oscillator clock of the board. This processing is determined by the asynchronous mapping method of GFP-F itself.
This would be all on what is the difference between Bit Transparent Mapping and MAC Transparent Mapping. Thanks for reading this post!
