Hi, feixue!

The personal understanding is as follows:

  • A single stream is a pure audio, pure video, or audio + video. It is also called a mainstream video, which is usually from the first camera, MCU, third-party signal source and microphone.

  • A presentation refers to a shared video image and a second video stream, such as a computer shared video, a second camera, or a third-party signal source.

  • Multi-stream refers to the flexible coding feature of SVC. A group of data (video) transmitted by the transmit end contains multiple resolutions. The receiving end can use the image of one resolution based on its decoding capability or subjective choice. For example, when watching a network video, the receiver can select ultra HD, HD and SD.

  • Data is similar to presentation and overlaps (desktop sharing). Data refers to more media sources than presentation, such as desktop sharing, program sharing, media sharing, voting, questionnaire survey, electronic whiteboard, text communication and file transfer.
