Hi, all!

In the following post I will introduce what is forced release and how to use it.

What is forced release

Forced release feature indicates that an agent can forcibly release a call between two users.

The forced release service applies to the following scenarios:

l       An agent forcibly ends an internal call.

For example:

User A needs to talk with user B who is in a call. User A uses the forced release service to forcibly end user B's call. User A hears an announcement indicating that the call is forcibly released. The two parties in user B's call hear a busy tone.

l       An SIP trunk number forcibly ends an ongoing call of an internal user under a specific unified gateway.

For example:

Unified gateways 1 and 2 are connected through the SIP trunk which is granted the forced release right.

User B under unified gateway 2 is in a call. User A under unified gateway 1 forcibly ends user B's call. The forced release succeeds. User A hears the forced release tone while user B hears the busy tone.

If the forced release override service is enabled for a forcibly released number, the forced release service is unavailable.

How to configure the forced release service

Set this parameter based on the scenario where the forcible release service is used.

An agent forcibly ends an internal call

1.    Log in to a U1900 series unified gateway using the CLI and access the Config mode.

2.    Run the config modify subscriber dn dn usertype Operator operatenewservice Add newservicerights OperatorDisconnect command to enable the forcible release permission for the agent.

3.    Run the save command to save the data.

An SIP trunk number forcibly ends an ongoing call of an internal user under a specific unified gateway

In the following example, unified gateway 1 and unified gateway 2 are connected through SIP trunks. User A on unified gateway 1 can forcibly insert calls between internal users B and C on unified gateway 2.

1.   Configure the SIP trunk between unified gateway 1 and unified gateway 2. For details, see Data Configuration.

2.   Configure unified gateway 1, including: Delete the default prefix, configure the prefix for outgoing calls to unified gateway 2, and enable the forcible insertion and release permission for SIP numbers. For details, see Configuring Unified Gateway 1 in the Feature Configuration.

3.   Configure unified gateway 2, including: Change the attribute of the prefix to allow PSTN access, and enable the forcible insertion and forced release permission for SIP numbers. For details, see Configuring Unified Gateway 2 in the Feature Configuration.

How to use the forced release service

When B and C are in a call, A wants to forcibly release the call between B and C. In this case, A dials *81*TN#.
