Super C-band adds two wavelength ranges to the extended C-band. Therefore, when the channel spacing is 50 GHz, the number of wavelengths in the WDM system increases from 96 wavelengths in the extended C band to 120 wavelengths.

Super C band uses the ultra-wide C band (C120) in addition to the traditional C band (C80) and the extended C band (C96). It increases the available wavelength range

The extended C-band supports up to 96 wavelengths compared to the 80 wavelengths for traditional C-band for a 20% bandwidth improvement per fiber pair. For example, with 100Gbps wavelengths, the transmission bandwidth increases from 8Tbps to 9.6Tbps.
