What Is an IP Address Failover Policy?

When a OceanStor storage system is initialized, it automatically adds all Ethernet ports and bond ports to the default failover group.

During IP address failover, the system selects ports in the following priority order:

  1. Selects a port at the same location on the peer controller.

  2. Selects an available port at another location on the peer controller in the following priority order:

    1. Port of the same type and at the same rate

    2. Port of the same type but at a different rate

    3. Port of a different type

  3. Searches for a normal controller starting from controller 0 and selects an available port by following rules in 2.

In the default failover group, the system selects a port with the same MTU for IP address failover.

Good explanation, thanks
