Hello, everyone.

I have an OSN 8800.

I want to know about the WSM9 board, like the board's technical specifications, functions, and features.

Thanks.

Hello, my friend.

The WSM9 board is mainly used to dynamically groom wavelengths, monitor online optical performance, and monitor alarms and performance events.

For detailed functions and features, refer to Table 1.

Table 1 Functions and features of the WSM9 board

Function and FeatureDescription
Basic functionConfigures any wavelengths to any interfaces. A node on the ring or chain network can receive any wavelengths at the local station through any interfaces to achieve the dynamic wavelength allocation.
WDM specificationSupports the DWDM specifications.
Spectrum application
  • TN11WSM9/TN12WSM9/TN17WSM9

Supports signals with a 100 GHz channel spacing.

  • TN13WSM9

Supports signals with a 50 GHz channel spacing.

  • TN16WSM9

    • Supports signals with a 50 GHz channel spacing.

    • Supports flexible grid wavelength signals.

The signals have continuous n x slice GHz spectrums (one slice is equal to 50 GHz, and n is an integer ranging from 1 to 8) to meet the bandwidth requirements of high-rate services. When multi-rate services are transmitted together, the board flexibly allocates bandwidth to improve the bandwidth utilization efficiency.

  • TN96WSM9

    • Supports extended C-band wavelengths

    • Supports flexible grid wavelength signals.

The signals have continuous n x slice GHz spectrums (one slice is equal to 12.5 GHz, and n = 3 to 32) to meet the bandwidth requirements of high-rate services. The board flexibly allocates bandwidth to improve the bandwidth utilization efficiency.

Online optical performance monitoring

Provides an in-service monitoring port (MON). This port connects to an optical spectrum analyzer or spectrum analyzer unit to monitor the spectrum and optical performance of the multiplexed signal without affecting traffic.

Alarm and performance event monitoring

Detects the optical power and reports the alarms and performance events for the board.

Optical power adjustmentProvides the function to adjust the optical power of each channel.
Optical-layer ASONSupported by the TN12WSM9/TN13WSM9/TN16WSM9/TN17WSM9/TN96WSM9.

Thanks.
