In addition to ensuring that RSTP is basically consistent with the STP format in the BPDU format, RSTP has made some minor changes. One is in the Type field, the configuration BPDU type is no longer 0 but 2, and the version number has also become 2. Therefore, the switch running STP will discard this type of BPDU when it receives it. Another change is to use the originally reserved middle 6 bits in the Flag field. The configuration BPDU changed in this way is called RST BPDU.
