What are the Means of GPON ONU Upgrade & Their Differences

ONU upgrade files are classified into the following types: 

1. The .W file needs to be loaded in CFE mode. 

2. Load the IMAGE file directly on the Web page. (The upgrade can also be performed in CFE mode.) 

3. Load the BIN file on the web page. 

The differences between the three types of files are as follows: 

 The W file is the upgrade file of the old version. During the upgrade, both the BIOS and the user program are upgraded. 

Both the BIOS and the user program are upgraded when the IMAGE file is upgraded. 

The BIOS is not upgraded during the upgrade of the BIN file.
