What Are the Functions Provided by Basic and Advanced Software Packages of a VTL

A hardcopy license file is delivered with a VTL device. Basic and advanced software packages are the Basic Software Package and Advanced Software Package in the hardcopy license.
The Basic Software Package provides basic functions of a VTL device, enabling you to create virtual tape libraries and map them to a backup server.
          Each VTL device has a basic software package. If the license of a basic software package is not registered, all basic functions of the VTL are unavailable.
The Advanced Software Package provides value-added functions of a VTL device, enabling automatic cache, email reminding, OpenStorage (for the VTL6000 and VTL6900), tape encryption, replication, inline deduplication (for the VTL6900), Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP), hosted backup, high availability (for the VTL6000 and VTL6900), and capacity expansion (usable capacity, usable cache capacity, and usable capacity for deduplication).
          Before registering the license of the advanced software package, register the license of the basic software package. Otherwise, value-added functions that have been registered may be unavailable.
