What are the functions of the STG and STI boards

Hello, friend!

When the 2M clock is required or the IEEE 1588V2 function is supported, the external clock signals need to be accessed through the clock interface.

In an OptiX OSN 8800 T64 or T32 subrack, the TN52STG or TNK2STG board does not have a clock port and the external clock port is on the STI board.

The OptiX OSN 6800 does not support the STI board. The STG board has external clock interfaces.

Clock Board

The clock board is used to provide the system clock and time to ensure the synchronization of the clocks and time on the NEs.

The clock unit is as follows:

Board	Function
TN11STG/TN12STG/TN13STG	Provides the intra-NE system clock and system frame. The service boards on the NE use the system clock and frame header to synchronize the intra-NE services. Selects the time recovered from the service signals or the TOD port of the synchronous timing interface board STI to synchronize the time of the entire system. Synchronize the time and clocks between the NEs.
