The DiskGuard software is developed based on Windows, and implements comprehensive data protection policies for hard disks and disk partitions, and provides system recovery tools DiskGuard RecoverCD. The DiskGuard collaborates with the storage system to provide off-line data protection and system recovery in Windows.

The DiskGuard has two working modes:

Synchronous mode (continuous protection mode): Data changes on the protected disk are backed up to the mirror disk in real time. Synchronous protection ensures constant data consistency between the source disk and the mirror disk.
Asynchronous protection (periodical protection mode): Data increments on the source disk are periodically synchronized to the mirror disk according to a backup time policy. Therefore, you can set the synchronization time in off-peak time so that data protection affects the system performance to the minimum extent. The DiskGuard provides interval options varying from minutes to days.
