Hello everyone!
Today, I’d like to share a case.
Problem Description
During the MW that involved change an OSN8800 T32 sub-rack from slave to master , In the commissioning when try to recover the lambdas affected by new configuration of NE's, U2000 reported the error: Insufficient resource .The wavelength of the trail to be created is not in the wavelength list of this OMS trail.
Problem Analysis
1. Identify sink and source of the lambdas affected by the change.
2. After exporting U2000 script, compare the cross connection configuration before and after the new trail creation. It was found that from the device side there’s only one record for cross connection creation but from U2000 side there was another cross connection residual before above manual creation.
That is why U2000 reported no enough resource error when creating new trail.
3. Checking operation history, it was found before subrack changing there were many operations for deleting cross connection and deleting trail from U2000.
Root Cause
Deleting cross connections from device side and from U2000 at the same time, that leaded to some old resources remain on U2000 .
Solution Description
1. Create cross connections site by site and search trail from U2000.
2. Only delete cross connection from related site, after finishing change subrack, create these cross connections from site again and search trail from U2000 to recover the trail; do not delete trail from U2000.
Suggest
For NE reconfiguration from slave to master do not delete trail from U2000.
The correct way to deleted WDM trail and re-creation is only from device side or U2000. Below are two options:
1. Delete fiber/xc/board from NE side, change id, then create NE/board/fiber/xc again, at last search trail from U2000.
2. Delete whole trail from network layer, change fiber/xc/board/id from NE side, after that create new trail from network layer again.

We’ll study together.
Thank you!
