Hello,
Today I will share with you the DCN subnet scale requirements and restrictions.
DCN subnet size requirements and restrictions:
Due to the limitations of the DCC protocol itself, even if the number of gateways is met, the number of network elements in a DCN subnet (the number of network elements here refers to the number of physical network elements with network element IDs) cannot exceed an upper limit.
The upper limit is:
Ring networking:
The number of network elements on a ring cannot exceed 64 (DCN routing depth determines).
Chain networking:
The number of network elements on a chain cannot exceed 64 (DCN routing depth determines).
Other complex networking forms:
a- When the ASON protocol is not enabled, such as the entire DCN subnet, when the OSP version adopted by all network elements is V2R2 and higher (Note: corresponding to the NGWDM version is 8800R2 and 6800R4C04 or higher), the upper limit is 200 When the network elements in the subnet simultaneously run the ASON protocol, the upper limit is reduced to 100.
b- For example, if the OSP version used by some network elements in the entire DCN subnet is V2R1 or lower, the upper limit is 100 (the number of network elements here refers to the number of physical network elements with network element IDs). Whether to enable the ASON protocol is the same.
In addition, the above data is based on the fact that the number of DCN directions of all network elements in the subnet does not exceed 10. If the actual number of DCN directions exceeds 10, it is recommended to close the DCN channels in some directions.
