VRRP between USG and Switch.

Hello, dear friends!

I first met with the VRRP design between the USG 6300 серии and the Catalyst Cisco Switch. The configuration is as follows:

--------------------------------------------------------------

USG:

interface GigabitEthernet1/0/0.1

 vlan-type dot1q 6

 ip address 10.0.6.151 255.255.255.0

 vrrp vrid 4 virtual-ip 10.0.6.254 active

 vrrp virtual-mac enable

alias Servers

 service-manage ping permit

 

Cisco Catalyst:

ip default-gateway 10.0.6.254

 --------------------------------------------------------------

Please tell me if such a configuration is permissible.

I thought that the second device for VRRP should be a router or firewall with VRRP and second virtual IP. Is it possible to do VRPP between a switch (with default-gateway)  and FW?

Depending on your configuration, the answers are as follows:
1. VRRP can be configured between firewalls and switches as long as the network between them is normal.
2. Cisco's configuration is not clear, but Huawei's firewall configuration is correct.
