China is “leading the world in research on emerging technologies such as 5G / 6G”. Also China is the first one to test 6G communications satellite successfully in the world (Here is the Link ) under its clear 6G roadmap to plan to roll out by 2030 (Link for details)

Recent Development
A group of researchers in China did an experimental wireless connection installed up in the Winter Olympics property that may concurrently broadcast over 10,000 high-definition live video feeds.
Using vortex millimeter waves (a form of the extremely high-frequency radio wave with rapidly changing spins), the group genius has successfully transmitted 1 terabyte of data over 1000 meter in a second.

It is a new dimension in 6G development, it can lead to a whole new world with almost unlimited possibilities
What really“Vortex wave” is?
Existing mobile phones communicate using electromagnetic waves that spread like ripples in a pond. The "up and down" of these waves, which have just two dimensions from a mathematical perspective, represent information.
Like a tornado, the vortex electromagnetic wave has a three-dimensional shape.

The vortex waves is a new dimension to wireless transmission. Extra information could be coded into the whirling, or orbital angular momentum (OAM), of these waves to massively increase the bandwidth of communication.
History of Vortex
The whirling capability of radio waves was initially observed in 1909 by British physicist John Henry Poynting, but putting it to use proved tricky.
Researchers in Europe conducted the first vortex wave communication tests in year 90s.
In 2020, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Company attained a speed of 200Gbps over a distance of 10 meters (33 feet) in Japan.
More about Experiment
The major issue of the size of the spinning waves grows larger with distance, making high-speed data transmission difficult.
The Chinese team devised a high-performance receiving device that could take up and decode a large quantity of data in a split second, as well as a novel transmitter that generated a more concentrated vortex beam and made the waves spin in three distinct modes to convey more information.
The experimental wireless communication line, set up in the Beijing Winter Olympics compound last month, could stream more than 10,000 high-definition live video feeds simultaneously.
Concluding Remarks
It's not only about the speed that's thrilling. It's about adding a new physical dimension that has the potential to open up a whole new universe with nearly limitless possibilities
It's a game-changing technology that may propel China to the forefront of the global battle for next-generation wireless communication, also known as 6G.
